Evo Morales came to town. So did Daniel Ortega. And Hugo Chavez -- he's there in spirit.
Following Morales, Ortega and the rest of a fascinating cast of characters from Latin America around New York has been ALEXANDRA OLSON's job during the opening session of the U.N. General Assembly.
Aside from the drama surrounding the visit of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Latin American leaders have provided some of the most interesting moments at this week's festivities in New York, from an appearance by Bolivian leader Morales on "The Daily Show" to Nicaraguan President Ortega attacking the American "dictatorship" during a U.N. speech.
Olson paused during her busy day of reporting to talk to AP Deputy International Editor NICOLAS B. TATRO about Latin America's role at the U.N. and in the world. Listen to their conversation in this asap podcast.
