SKYDIVING -- Might as well jump
It takes guts to jump out of a plane at 13,000 feet. CARYN ROUSSEAU asks skydivers: If that doesn't spook you, what does?

September 27, 2007
By CARYN ROUSSEAU, The Associated Press

Skydivers even look fearless before they get into an airplane.

In their military-style jumpsuits, wearing parachutes and helmets, there's something about the way some of them saunter around the hangar pre-flight, chatting about anything but the idea of jumping out of a plane.

But are these folks really as brave as they would have us believe? Are there chinks in their adrenaline-laced armor?

asap went to the United States Parachute Association's national championship competition to ask some of the country's most experienced jumpers: If this doesn't scare you, what does?
