Dante's
Sinferno
by

Portland
is town is full of S.I.N.
Like you didn't know.
Or did you?
We
speak, of course of Service
Industry Nights, special
happy hour evenings held
by bars to reward state
licensed alchohol servers
with discount specials.
Typically held early in
the week when most of
the big money 'tenders
have the night off, Service
Industry Nights are as
common in Portland as
strip clubs.
A
point not lost on Dante's
Inferno. Not at all.
For
years now this flesh-pool
fire-pit has held a special
S.I.N. cabaret
revue on Sundays, aptly
titled, Sinferno, a combination
of exotic dancers and
those who dance with fire.
What, you ask?
The
idea of strippers-meeting-fire
dancers on the plush and
intimate stage of Dante's
is certainly fitting enough.
The vintage Itallian decadence
suggested by the club's
interior decor--blood-glow
bars, red velvet curtains,
candles, fire pit--is
a classic scene for Sinferno's
super-hot talent. Heat,
however, is not limited
to the stage at Sinferno.
The crowd this night attracts
is one of the sexiest
in town.
Not
that bartenders being
a typically sexy, well-groomed
lot who know all too well
the finer points of having
a very good time is new
news. But bartenders aren't
the only ones who flock
to Sinferno to receive
discounted treatment:
Portland Sex Industry
Workers are rewarded as
well.
That
pretty much makes Sinferno,
a complete package: good
people, good dress, lot's
of alcohol... with massive
hormonal urge and a wild
stage show, to boot. What
else are you looking for
on a night out on the
town?
Danger,
you say?
Well,
sit up front then. The
fire dancers wielding
their burning globes and
flaming whips are mesmerizing
to behold and seem professional
enough in their execution...
but watch out. A recent
Sinferno saw one fire
dancer lose control of
a flaming baton. Thankfully,
the burning item was rescued
off the floor, near the
bar, and no one was hurt.
Still...
Also
on the same night, it
should be noted that exotic
dancer and regular Sinferno
organizer, Lucy
Fur, was knock-out.
Imagine a voluptuous Sigourney
Weaver gone '60s go-go.
Sexy meets the severe.
To become infatuated with
a stripper is a very unwise
thing, but Ms. Fur is
a stone fool-maker.
In
addition to Sinferno,
Dante's offers a regular
calendar of cabaret entertainment
and rock 'n' roll shows.
Their adjoining Limbo
Lounge is open throughout
the day and offers lunch
and happy hour specials.
Classic arcade games are
complimented by wireless
internet access. See Dante's
website for current
listings and info.
